I have downloaded the STAAD Advanced Concrete Design RCDC. I am using 64 bit system.
When I run the application as an administer, I got the main screen without any installation option (shown below)

I am designing a mat slab.
The slab Designer dialogue box allows me to set the top cover and bottom cover. Does the longitudinal or transverse reinforcing have the least cover?
Are layers 1 & 4 always in the longitudinal direction?
Does SFA allow for the reduced capacity of layers 2 & 3 as they have a smaller lever arm (i.e. d2 < d1)?
Would like a quick response as this is my first time using the software and want to know I detail this correctly on a project please.

EXTREMELY SOFT STOREY
Hi Sirs,
I'm having problem with my model.
Upon soft storey checking, my 2nd storey resulted to "extremely soft" along global x. So, I decided to change my column into larger size, but still it appears "extremely soft" in same storey.
I tried to change the property into steel i beam, and still, same result. I also tried to add some shear walls.
Hope you can help me with this.
I'm still a beginner and a graduating student.

While working with Structural Wizard , I wanted to go with VBA Macro Models , it is showing the SImple Tower and Stadium roof but when i do a double click , there is no box to input the dimension. Instead it is showing some coded message.help me with it.

RAM Gable Roof Modeling
I am trying to model a gable roof. I understand that this needs to be accomplished by adjusting the heights of the ridge beam but am having trouble defining two separate slab polygons. I am able to successfully model one half of the gable roof and have it display correctly in 3D, but when I draw the opposite side of the roof slab edge the slab edge along the ridge beam for the first half disappears. How can I successfully draw the 2 sides of the gable roof? Thank you in advance.
