RE: Deflection in the rafters.

Can you please elaborate your point? Are you asking why you are getting deflection or you are asking why the critical condition is deflection? Please clarify.

RE: Distribute load between four supports

I am not sure how you have modeled the structure. Please upload the model so that we can take a look. From the sketch you provided, the loading does not look symmetric and so reactions would be...

RE: Moving support reactions

The only way would be to have separate models for each support position and run separate analysis for each.

Moving support reactions

Hi,We know that we can define a moving load in STAAD. Is there a way to define moving reaction supports? Say for example, if I want to know the reaction on supports supporting a bridge and if the...

RE: Deflection in the rafters.

Respected sir, I want to know why the global deflection for rafter is above the limit(L/180 = 25/180 = 140 mm approx.), am i missing something or is there some other reason.

Distribute load between four supports

Hi,We have a beam with several concentrated and uniformly distributed loads. We have four (virtual) supports. Each pair of two supports is connected again to a common point. So it turn we have just 2...

RE: Deflection in the rafters.

Why do you expect that the deflection should not exceed L/180? The global deflection is related to the load applied and the stiffness of the structure along that deflected direction.

RE: Deflection in the rafters.

You should not look into the global deflection rather you should look into local deflection. You can incorporate deflection checking in STAAD.Pro by using DFF, DJ1 and DJ2 parameter. Please have a look...

RE: Deflection in the rafters.

It seems like your question is on analysis. If your concern is on the deflection limit check (serviceability), then you need to input the DFF, DJ1 and DJ2 parameters in the design parameters. Please...
