Here is the easiest way to get a good spreadsheet. Open up STAAD Foundation Advanced and choose Open to bring up the Open dialog box. Browse to the installation folder of SFA and inside the Examples folder  (  C:\Staad Foundation Advanced SS3\Examples ) you will find sfa files for isolated footing, pilecap & mat. Open the appropriate file that matches the job type you are trying to do. Once the model opens, choose Export to Spreadsheet and save the xml file at a desired location. You can subsequently open the xml file in Excel and make necessary changes. Once completed, you can open a new SFA model and choose Import Spreadsheet to import the data from the xml.
