Mr.DSANJU,
Thanks. I corrected and the program went in a smooth way and found the DEC IN THE DEFINITION.
Appreciate how as per the article the column load got using the DOM & IMR factors?
In page 537 technical manual it is noted that if the mass load is created under REFERNCE LOAD DEFINITION there is no need to add the mass load under the seismic load as in the definition of UBC in the above page.
in addition I have the folllowing doubt on Seismic definition with REFERENCE LOAD as :
In page 536 it is noted as:
If a mass model using reference load type MASS is defined and also a seismic weight table is defined in DEFINE UBC/1893/… DEFINITION, the program will simply add seismic weight table with mass model already defined.
I need to know is it correct to define the seismic load only and not to add the mass reference load as below:
DEFINE 1893 LOAD
ZONE 0.24 RF 5 I 1.5 SS 2 ST 1 DM 0.05
Or
DEFINE 1893 LOAD
ZONE 0.24 RF 5 I 1.5 SS 2 ST 1 DM 0.05
REFERENCE LOAD Y
R5 1.0
Which one is correct as twice adding mass will add up reactions and member forces?
Once again I owe debt of thanks.
T.RangaRajan.
