in the attached model, a plate sits on top of both horizontal members of bracket, with help of four bolts. STAAD design output says all members pass. But when i did design manually, the moment capacity of the flange of angle seems less (tying resistance of the the joint ). I used T stub theory (angle flange in bending case) to find bolt resistance and multiplied with distance from bolt to the column edge (which sits on plate - only reactions used for clarity), which will give moment capacity of the flange of angle.
Is staad reading my model correctly??
