RE: Difference in reactions on exposure to -ve and +ve temperature loads

Reactions may be different based on the type of structure. As you know a positive temperature would mean expansion and a negative would mean contraction. If the structural arrangement is such that the structural stiffness resisting the expansion is different from the same resisting contraction, you can end up having different reactions.
