We have a podium floor we have modeled its general geometry in RSS. We exported into Concept from RSS, creating the link between the models. We want to be able to bring in the column moments from Concept for analysis and design in RSS. However, we did not model the drop panels or the slab step in RSS Modeler, as this is a lot easier in Concept. We also did not include all the surface area loads in RSS, as we are adding them in the Concept model.
Based on our design approach, it seems we cannot bring in either the geometry changes or the surface area loads back into RSS. Are we missing a step in the link between the two models? Or is this a program limitation? It seems the only thing we can export back into RSS are the column reactions.
If we cannot export back into RSS, I imagine we can take the Concept model, break the link with RSS and finish the design as a stand-alone model. Once completed, we can bring it in back into a new RSS model as a new floor, but we will loose the link to check the columns for the tendon moments. Is this the only option we have?
Basically, we can either do the geometry in Concept or have the link for the column reactions, but not both at the same time. Is this correct?
Thanks for the help!
