I'm trying to analyze a large model (15,000 nodes, 31,000 beams, 2500 plates) but I'm receiving various error messages. The analysis has 17 reference load cases, 43 primary load cases and 600 load combinations along with code check commands. The error messages range from "SProSTaad MFC Application has stopped working" to "Error not enough memory for AISC Unified Steel Design-2" to "Error-STAAD built in memory block has overflowed" to "Error not enough memory for section force calculation-2".
There are no CHANGE commands and I've added SET NL based on the number of load combinations in the input. Adding MEMORY 220 to the input file I was able to run 200 load combinations. Increasing the MEMORY command much beyond 220 produces an error message. I also added SET STAR 4 command, but I am still limited at 200 load combinations.
Is there anything else I can do to run this analysis with more than 200 load combinations? My current computer has 16GB ram, would increasing this allow STAAD to analyze more than 200 load combinations?
