RE: Back to back sections and member offsets

I saw the rendered view of your model. It appears that you had created the channel sections placed back to back having some gap in between. Now when your are placing this channel arrangement on the column head, program would connect the shear center of the "back to back" channel arrangement with that of the shear center of the I shaped channel section. Now, looking at your model you wanted to establish the connection at the column flange only which is exactly not the same type of structural simulation you can get in Staad. Although the additional moment developed due to the connection eccentricity would be reported by Staad but to see the actual stress developed at the column flange you need might not get it properly in model. If you can model these connection by plate elements then you can see the much better stress result at the connection.
