An important thing to consider here is that the plates connected to these rafters are going to pick up out of plane shears too. So at every node where you have plates connected to the beam, the total shear will be split between the beam and the plates in proportion to their relative stiffness. The thicker the plate, the more shear it would take and more jagged the SF diagram would be.
