I came across a strange discrepancy this morning when designing a two way RC flat plate.
Long story short - the program wasn't considering user defined rebar when doing the service design calcs using design strips. However when I placed a design section exactly over a particular design strip cross section - the design section calc was considering the user defined rebar.
Every single parameter (concrete cross section configuration, stresses, user defined rebar, everything...) was the same between the design section and design strip cross section.
Essentially the design strips aren't considering my user defined rebar and thus is adding unnecessary rebar all over the slab. Screenshots below.
