The FEM analysis results depend on the mesh size of the plate. The finer the mesh is, the more accurate results will be. However, it will take more time to analyze the model. The engineer should decide what mesh size is reasonable. You may create several models with different mesh sizes and notice the displacements of most critical nodes. You can then compare the values of these displacements. Once the difference between the displacements of the different mesh size is acceptable, you can then proceed with that mesh size.
