The deflection check is carried out by STAAD.Pro as part of the design process. You need to specify the design parameters DFF, DJ1 and DJ2 appropriately for that and carry out the check code. The allowable deflection would be calculated as Length/DFF and if the actual displacements are more than that, STAAD.Pro would report the member as FAIL ed in the design and DEFLECTION would be listed as the critical condition. Also the British 5950 code allows a separate deflection check to be carried out if TRACK parameter is set to 4.
