I am checking ductility with EC2, C25/30
Method 1: I calculated by hand
- find fcd(design compressive strength) = 16.7 Mpa follow EC2-3.1.6 => find out the height of compression area (x1)
Method 2:
- i check the compression stress at ULS and get the value, but it is smaller than fcd => find out the height of compression area (x2)
If i use x1 to check ductility, it is ok. But it is not ok with x2 and Ram needs to add rebar for this
I feel confused, which is ok? which the compression stress used is correct.
