Dear Community Members,
I am checking a topside module structure analysis model supporting series of pipe supports. Incidentally, one of the pipe support is on the lines of a suspended L bracket subjected to nominal lateral loads less than 10 kN. While the stresses in the members are very nominal, the deflection at the free end of the bracket (horizontal leg) reports an unusually large deflection. The member properties are in order and there are no member end releases.
Can anyone advise if there are any modelling aspect that I have ignored for cantilever brackets in STAADPro. Hand calculations and verifications with other software do not report this behaviour.
